Heytea Lab Shenzhen OCT Harbor: A New Era of Tea Experience

Uno Chan's Innovative Design Transforms Tea Consumption into an Immersive Experience

Heytea Lab Shenzhen OCT Harbor, designed by Uno Chan, redefines the tea-drinking experience by integrating commodity, experience, and social function. This unique flagship store, awarded the Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, serves as a testament to the potential of innovative design in transforming traditional industries.

Uno Chan's design inspiration stemmed from the complex business environment and the brand's commitment to providing unique consumer experiences. The design transcends conventional reference systems, deconstructing consumer demands and feelings, and extending the potential value of Heytea. The result is a space that offers unique experiences and value, demonstrating the power of creative planning and operation.

The Heytea Lab, the first flagship store in Shenzhen, stands out for its unique properties. It is a successful practice based on the analysis of current consumption habits and trends. The design integrates commodity and experience with social function, aiming to provide a brand-new consumption experience. The store's design is a testament to the potential of innovative design in transforming traditional industries.

The realization of this design involved the use of strip lights and light films inlaid in the ceiling and metal grilles to highlight the simplicity and elegance of the space. The aluminum foam sheet covering the side walls contrasts with the delicate satin brushed metal, creating a relaxing and refreshing atmosphere for customers.

The project covers a total of 1300 square meters and is divided into five different laboratories: the peripheral lab, the ice-making lab, the dessert lab, and the illustration lab on the first floor, and the tea geek lab on the second floor. The geometric staircase leads customers to different labs, serving as the visual center of the space.

Designing the Heytea Lab involved overcoming several challenges. One of these was the design of the ceiling of the Tea Geek Lab, which was designed according to the pitched roof to form blocks of different textures. Against this backdrop, a moon-shaped art decoration was created, with the moon hanging against the "starry sky" on the LED screen, creating a beautiful picture for customers to enjoy.

Heytea Lab Shenzhen OCT Harbor is a testament to the power of innovative design in transforming traditional industries. It serves as a model for other businesses looking to integrate commodity, experience, and social function to provide unique consumer experiences. The store's success, as evidenced by its Golden A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020, demonstrates the potential of innovative design in creating value and new experiences for consumers.
